You can, if you wish, deactivate the connection between consecutive notes by transforming the soft note separation between them into a hard separation. By moving the adjacent note as well in this way, Melodyne prevents discontinuities occurring and preserves the musicality of the phrasing. This is invariably the case when one note follows directly on from another and there is a soft note separation between them. Notice that as you move the beginning or end of a note in this way, the preceding or following note, if adjacent, is either stretched or compressed by the same amount to avoid either the two notes overlapping or white space (silence) appearing between them. Timing changes in the case of connected notes In the same way, you can move only the rightmost part of the blob (which corresponds to the end of the note) or selection of blobs to stretch or squeeze the corresponding note or notes. Stretching and squeezing also acts upon either a single note or a multiple selection of notes according to choice. Press and hold the key if you wish the Time Grid to be ignored when editing.
